The building owner is committed to minimising the impact on the neighbourhood and surrounding area during construction. However, certain emissions and restrictions will inevitably occur during this period.
The current passage from Steinenvorstadt to the Birsig car park will be closed to vehicles for the duration of the construction work. For safety reasons, the parking spaces in the Birsig car park immediately adjacent to the current high-rise building will also be removed. Access to the surrounding properties will remain guaranteed.
In consultation with the authorities, the following measures will be put in place to manage construction site traffic during the dismantling work in 2026:
Appropriate safety measures are in place at all times. Any impact on through traffic at Heuwaage will be signalled in good time on site if necessary.
Construction work will be carried out during the canton of Basel-Stadt’s prescribed working hours (weekdays: 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.). Work on Saturdays will only be carried out if necessary, and there will be no work on Sundays or public holidays.
